How to convert PDF documents into HTML

When inserting content from a PDF file into your web page, the format of the text in the PDF can sometimes be different when pasted into the web page editor. It may insert extra spaces in sentences, capitalize letters that were previously in lower case and insert paragraph breaks within paragraphs. A good way to check is to scan the document once it is pasted into the editor, as all checks can be made with one read through. While this method applies some appropriate formatting to the content, there are still some required features for accessibility and usability that this method will not automatically add. Align all headings and text to the left Any center, left justified, or right justified attributes will be kept when pasting in content.

4 Ways to Cut, Copy and Paste Text in PDF Files

Recently when I am printing any attachments from Acrobat, instead of it printing the text, I'm getting a printouts of totally non-sensicle gobble-de- xxxx in the form of symbols instead of actual letters. Very weird, because I've always been able to print the attachments in the past. My only option currently is to select all, copy and paste into a word document. Anyone know what the hell I've done wrong? Tania Horton. Hi It sounds like its a problem when the fonts are sent to your printer.

If you want to copy text from a PDF file to add to a Word document, paste a formula onto an Excel spreadsheet, or insert into PowerPoint slides for a presentation, it can be as easy as using the Copy and Paste function. However, that may not necessarily work for all PDF files owing to security and other permissions, but there are other ways you can fulfill the same task. This may be indicated by a grayed out or dimmed copy feature in Reader. If the PDF you received is protected by a password , use the designated password combination to open it, and then check the security settings to confirm that content copying is allowed. This is the de-facto method of copying text from most documents or files, not just PDFs. The Snapshot tool in your PDF reader helps you select the text you want as a screenshot or graphic, and then paste it onto another document without affecting the formatting.

While it is easy to cut, copy and paste text on a word document, with PDF files, you need to apply a few tweaks to be able to freely rearrange the text. Shown here are the best ways you can make use of the cut, copy and paste functions to move text around the PDF, as if it were a rich document editor. For those using Adobe Acrobat Reader , it lets you select and copy any block of text. Apart from blocks of text, Adobe Acrobat Reader also lets you add your signature on any page or specific lines. Copy-pasting is a breeze with this valuable feature. If you want a more professional document-editing environment, you require the full set of features of a PDF editor.

Lee Seimer. The person mastering content in the authoring file from which the PDF was created did not embed fonts. Some fonts used in the PDF are not on your system. So export reflects that - you've nothing on your system that correlates to the font used. While Acrobat Pro from 9 forward provides a Preflight to embed fonts this only works if the fonts in the PDF that are to be embedded are available on your computer.

Is there any way to replace the fonts of the original PDF by changing it by a different indices to characters then you get garbage characters during copy/paste. After looking inside the PDF it turns out that no usable encoding information is.

The problem may be custom font encoding, not encryption. In Acrobat, click File -> Properties, then click the Fonts tab to see encoding, and the Security tab to see whether it's encrypted.
